Background:
A sixth-generation native of Jackson, GA, Mr. Jones founded JP Capital & Insurance in 2004 with the purpose of serving as the risk management advisor for the parent company, Jones Petroleum. Mr. Jones quickly saw the opportunity for expansion into the retail insurance brokerage market. Through hard work and dedication, Mr. Jones has built the start-up agency into an established insurance brokerage house founded on professionalism and client service.
Before his career in insurance, Mr. Jones was a student-athlete at the University of Georgia. Mr. Jones was a four-year letterman for the University of Georgia Football team. A former walk-on, Mr. Jones was voted a Permanent Team Captain on the 2002 SEC Championship Team. His contributions to the team helped bring UGA their first SEC Championship in 20 years.
Mr. Jones is married to the former Miss Janice L. Boswell of Griffin, GA. They have two children, one daughter, Stella Owen Jones and one son, William Banks Jones. Burt enjoys water skiing, fishing, hunting, and attending sporting events with his family.
